Anniston, AL -(Ammoland.com)- Become a part of the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) growing list of Camp Riflery Master Instructors by attending one of two Camp Riflery Master Instructor Workshops being offered in 2015.

A workshop will be held at Camp Perry, OH, March 16-17, and in Anniston, AL, March 23-24. Camp Riflery programs are some of the most popular activities offered at summer camps around the country where riflery is offered.

There, boys and girls learn safe gun handling and marksmanship skills, while also being introduced to the stimulating sport of target shooting. Along the way, the juniors also develop valuable life skills that will be beneficial on their journey into adulthood. The CMP Camp Riflery Master Instructors are the leaders of these camps: advocating safety and proper rifling etiquette. The Master Instructor Workshops guide individuals on how to best train others in becoming local camp riflery instructors/counselors at the camps.

After the workshop, Master Instructors will be capable of running their own camp riflery programs with little assistance as well as exhibit rifle marksmanship and range safety to all. Fees for each camp are $115 and includes a lunch for the extent of the class. The Camp Riflery Master Instructor Course entails two days of instruction – 16 hours total training. During that time, potential instructors must demonstrate the ability to run a safe range as well as be able to pass that ideal onto others, while also demonstrating the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship.

A 100-question final exam at the end of the course will be administered to test each attendees understanding of the material. A score of 80 or better must be achieved in order to graduate the class. The majority of the instruction during the course is conducted with air rifles, but graduated Camp Riflery Master Instructors will be capable of administering target shooting fundamentals to those within the BB gun and smallbore rifle disciplines as well, as all safety and marksmanship skills can apply to each.
