Sig Sauer’s electro-optics division, in New Hampshire, announced this week the availability of a new breed of pistol light, which they call Foxtrot1.
The Foxtrot one is innovative in that it uses LED technology, which Sig’s electro-optics division president Andrew York says “allows the shooter to balance power output with battery life to their specific needs.”
Both the usual Mil-Std 1913 rail or Sig’s propriety rail will accept the Foxtrot1. It’s for sale to both departmental and civilian buyers.
Operation is ambidextrous, with choices of either continuous or momentary modes. The light is activated by what Sig Sauer calls “tact” switches, an apparent reference to “tactile,” or grooved buttons on the device.
Foxtrot1 is 3.1 inches long and 1.2 inches wide, and also 1.2 inches in height. The weight is 3 ounces, but Sig doesn’t specify if that’s with or without a battery. It’s adjustable for windage and elevation.
Efficiency was front of mind in construction of Fotxtrot1. The Cree LED bulbs, claims Sig, will run for two hours on its 200-lumen setting. The light’s power source is a CR123A battery, included with purchase.
There are three brightness settings, putting out 100, 200, or 300 lumens. The light is programmable to come on at a pre-determined brightness level. Adjustability for a variety of indoor or outdoor settings makes it idea for home and workplace defense, security, and law enforcement use.
Changing the battery is easily done through the twist-off vessel. The light fits most holsters made for pistol-light combinations.
The Foxtrot1 is submergible to 1 meter’s depth. It’s also fog-proof.
MSRP is $189.99. Sig covers the Foxtrot1 with the same five year warranty it does other products in the electro-optics division. Problem parts are repaired or replaced at the factory. If a device can’t be fixed, it will be replaced.
