Guns.com is sad to report that, according to CZ-USA’s Facebook page, shooting legend and gun spokesman Tom Knapp has passed away. There is no word on a cause of death or any other details.
From CZ-USA’s FB page:
The shooting world lost a great man today. Shooting Star Tom Knapp passed away this afternoon. Tom reinvented exhibition shooting almost 30 years after the passing of Herb Parsons. Tom was an inspiration to generations of shooters and he will be missed.
Our thoughts are with Tom’s family and friends.
We don’t think we’ll hear much of an argument when we state Tom Knapp was one of the finest exhibition shooters this world has ever laid eyes on—his talent with a shotgun was only rivaled by his showmanship, and Knapp deserves much credit for bringing trick shooting into the 21st century, working with major shotgun producers like Benelli and CZ over the years. He was also an excellent ambassador for gun culture and his program Shooting USA, still ranks in our minds as one of the finest shooting programs to ever reach the airwaves.
Many years ago, a then infant Guns.com got it’s first big break at SHOT Show 2011, when Mr. Knapp graciously granted us an interview. We were thankful then, and honored now to have gotten to press flesh with the Shooting Star.
To Tom’s family and loved ones, condolences. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
