Shooter Matt Cheely Opens His Team SIG SAUER Season with Victory
Shooter brings home Ohio Sectional Production Title.
EXETER, NH –-(Ammoland.com)- Team SIG SAUER shooter Matt Cheely opened his 2011 competitive season with a win over 81 other production shooters at the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Ohio Sectional Championship over the weekend.
“It was a relatively wide open match, with the stages requiring lots of shooting on the move,” Cheely said. “Some unique stage designs incorporating multiple activated targets played to my strengths and helped to push me to the win.”
Cheely’s score of 1096.1856 was less than one percentage point better than the second place shooter. Next up for Cheely will be the USPSA Area 5 Championship in Barry, Ill., on June 15. In the Production class, Cheely uses a P226® USPSA model.

Matt Cheely has been competing for the past five years in USPSA National Championships and has garnered multiple Top 10 National finishes. Cheely has also won multiple major IPSC matches in Canada and three Division Grand Master (GM) titles in Production, Limited and Limited 10. A born and raised native of Michigan, Cheely graduated from the Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors degree in Product Design and Development.
