Last week, a sharpshooting veteran saved an eagle stuck in a tree near Rush City, Minnesota.
Jason Galvin and his neighbors noticed an eagle with its leg caught in a piece of rope wrapped around a branch, about 70 feet off the ground.
“I thought it was dead at the time,” Galvin said. “I took a closer look with binoculars and saw that the head was moving, and I knew it was very much alive.”
He and his wife Jackie called the police, the fire department and the DNR, but none of them could help. Liability issues.
But he learned the eagle had been there for two and a half days, so he grabbed his .22 rifle and did something about it.
