WASHINGTON D.C. -(Ammoland.com)- The Department of Agriculture conservation priorities that advance the interests of America’s hunters and anglers were addressed by Secretary Sonny Perdue, for the first time, to an esteemed group of sportsmen and women during a special luncheon for Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) Chairman’s Club members.
Chairman’s Club Member and Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC) Co-Chair Congressman Jeff Duncan (SC) and CSF Board Chairman Paul Miller welcomed attendees and thanked them for supporting CSF’s mission of protecting and advancing hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping.
The Chairman’s Club includes individuals from all backgrounds of life who are united in their passion for the outdoors and conservation.
“Your support as Chairman’s Club members is critical to enhancing the mission of CSF – protecting and advancing hunting and angling traditions,” said Miller. “I would also like to thank the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus Members here today who are also Chairman’s Club members, for your dedication to advancing sportsmen’s policies in the halls of government and recognizing the support that CSF provides to advancing those policies.”
CSF President Jeff Crane introduced Secretary Sonny Perdue. The Secretary discussed the importance of healthy, working forests for wildlife, as well as keeping public lands open for outdoor recreation, including hunting and fishing.
“It’s very important to have this Foundation supporting the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, because that is where the policies are made so that we can enjoy the land and enjoy fishing and hunting,” said Secretary Perdue. “We want these to be resources that the American citizens can enjoy.”
“Lindsay Thomas has kept me informed about the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus ever since it was founded, and he is so proud of what it has accomplished,” said Secretary Perdue.
The Chairman’s Club lunch precedes CSF’s 28th Annual Banquet & Auction, which also takes place on September 13, in Washington, D.C.
