Muskego, WI -(Ammoland.com)- The Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) held its second Wisconsin State Championship on June 27 at Schultz Resort Rod & Gun Club in Muskego, Wisconsin.

Over two dozen squads representing eight teams vied for titles in all three divisions – Junior, Senior, and College. The teams’ participation earned them a total of $15,000 in endowment funds, which SPP will donate on their behalf to team accounts at the MidwayUSA Foundation, Inc.

In Junior Rimfire Division, the Burlington Demons Squad 2 took the gold medal, with Hartford Conservation Squad 1 earning silver and Union Grove Squad 6 the bronze. Lake Country Squad 2 took gold in the Junior Centerfire Division, while Ozaukee Squad 1 took the silver and Wilmot Squad 2 won the bronze.

In the Senior Centerfire Division, Ozaukee Squad 2 won the gold medal, and Union Grove Squad 1 and Lake Country Squad 1 took silver and bronze, respectively.

“I am extremely pleased with the attendance at the 2nd Annual SPP Wisconsin State Championships, as well as the overall growth we’ve seen this year in all three divisions,” said Rick Leach, SPP Wisconsin State Advisor. “SPP has given us an additional shooting sports discipline to offer the young adults of the Badger State, which will help us to pass along the rich heritage that we enjoy here in Wisconsin!”

Serving as Match Director was State Advisor Leach, who was assisted by Burlington head coach Steve Henning and local safety officers Nick Skelton, Drew Holzer, John Leach, Mary Glen, Bill McCluskey, Gary Poindexter, Scott McFarren, Jay Hollingsworth, and Joe Sinyakovich. On hand to assist were SPP National Director Scott Moore and Program Manager Tammy Mowry, as well GLOCK SPP liaison and SSSF board member Ed Fitzgerald.
