Ruger this week announced three new 77 series bolt action rifles, chambered in .17 WSM, .17 Hornet and .22 Hornet, complete with threaded barrels.
Featuring the company’s Green Mountain series laminate stocks, the upgraded M77s all have a factory 1/2x28TPI pitch with a factory-installed thread protector. Other standard features are a stainless 90-degree-throw bolt with the platform’s famous rapid lock time and flush-fitting detachable 6-round rotary magazine. Each new model sports an 18.5-inch stainless barrel with a 6-groove, 1-in-9 RH twist on the .17 caliber examples while the .22 Hornet comes to the party with a 1-in-14 twist.
These are handy bolt guns, with a 37.75-inch overall length, 13.5-inch length of pull and a weight of 7-pounds flat.
MSRP across the series is $1,069, but you can expect actual prices to be lower than that.
