Designed to work with any 10/22 Takedown rimfire, Ruger debuted its new ISB at the National Rifle Association meeting in Atlanta on Friday.

Billed to be able to reduce the report of standard velo .22LR to 113.2dB on average, the lightweight Silent-SR ISB is Ruger’s follow up to their first suppressor introduced last year — the screw on Silent-SR. Designed to work with their new Takedown series of 10/22, the 16.12-inch suppressed barrel is a simple changeout and its 2.6-pounds retains a center of gravity close to the rifle’s receiver.

The barrel is very easy to user-maintain and disassembles completely with a 5/32-inch hex that ships with the system. A single screw retains the seven 17-4 stainless steel baffles and cap as one unit. The endcap is 17-4 stainless as well but has been Cerekoted to match the tube.

Just remove the screw on a safe and unloaded gun, lift off the barrel cap, slide the entire stack out, snap each one apart, clean, and reassemble in reverse order.

The baffles only snap back together one way, making reassembly the correct way easy on the user.

Matt Willson with Ruger told Guns.com that the Silent SR ISB is ready to ship pending Form 3s from dealers. MSRP is $629.
