U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- The 18th IPSC Handgun World Shoot, which takes place every three years, was held August 27th- September 3rd, 2017 in Chateauroux, France. Over 2000 competitors traveled from all over the world to participate.
For the past three years, Rudy Project Pro Shooter Elias Frangoulis has been preparing for the match. After winning the 2015 and 2017 United States IPSC National titles in Classic division, he was prepared to take home the 2017 Classic Division World Champion title.
Elias’ decision to shoot major power factor at this match (when the majority of competitors seemed to choose minor for the increased round capacity) turned out to be a good one.
There were 30 stages shot over a week in France with a variety of short speed shoots and long, physically and mentally demanding courses.
Elias overcame adversity and several hurdles during the match, and still came out victorious against numerous previous world champions, to claim his first World Champion title.
Elias wore the Rudy Project Synform glasses with ImpactX photochromic lenses. “With all the lighting changes, the fast-changing and easily swappable photochromic lenses adjusted to the lighting conditions to keep my visual acuity sharp.”
Elias is looking forward to the USPSA Iron Sight National Championship in St. George, Utah, later this year.
