USA –-(Ammoland.com)- Herald.Net reported Friday, March 8, 2019, in Everett Washington, two men met in Everett for the sale of an iPhone. The buyer didn’t intend to pay.
The fake buyer reportedly used a fake gun to try to rob his victim during the transaction. The intended target had a real gun and shot him, according to police.
Everett Police Lt. Ryan Dalberg said the two parties met at the South Everett Park & Ride.
“Initial reports indicate that the two men had arranged to meet so that one could sell the other an iPhone”. During the interaction, the intended buyer allegedly pulled a fake gun and attempted to rob the seller. The seller responded by pulling a real gun and shooting the other man several times.”
Lt. Dalberg added that the shooter left the scene, but has contacted Everett Police. Investigators still were collecting and reviewing evidence, including surveillance footage.
The fake buyer as of the last report was in critical condition.
No additional information was made public Friday afternoon. Decisions have not been made on potential arrests or charges,
Comments:
Pretty clearly a good self-defense shooting. There could have been additional robbers in the area so running away was not necessarily a bad decision.
That was corrected anyway by quickly contacting law enforcement.
There are dozens of these types of robberies weekly all over the country. Never meet a buyer or seller of goods anywhere but in the front parking lot of a police station that is open at the time.
Whatever the other party’s reasoning for meeting anywhere else is a trap! The possible profit isn’t worth the risk of getting into a gunfight.
