An attempted robbery at a Chick-fil-A in Conway, Arkansas, Tuesday night left two employees shot and the suspect empty-handed.
One of the employees was taking out the trash just before 11:00 p.m. when he was approached by a man armed with a gun. The suspect forced the employee back into the restaurant, but a second employee then stepped in and an altercation ensued.
The altercation didn’t make it past the back area of the restaurant, but before the suspect left – with no cash in hand – he fired multiple shots, striking both employees.
The employees were transported to the hospital to receive treatment for the non-life threatening wounds and are expected to be okay.
Ironically, the day the suspect chose to rob the restaurant was free food day at Chick-fil-A, otherwise known as “Cow Appreciation Day.” Patrons only had to visit the restaurant wearing cow-themed clothing or carrying cow-themed accessories to get free food.
