BOZEMAN, Mont. –-(Ammoland.com)- On the latest episode of Randy Newberg Unfiltered radio show, host Randy Newberg hosts a very special guest – renowned wildlife scientist Shane Mahoney. The duo dives into deep conversations on hunting, how we evolved as hunters, what it means for today’s society, how to keep the heritage alive and more.
The show is available now on RandyNewberg.Com, iTunes and Stitcher,
“This show should be passed around to anyone on the fence about hunting. Especially if they need to hear scientific and historical evidence of ‘why’ humans, specifically hunters, do what we do,” said Newberg.
Other topics Newberg and Mahoney discuss are: hunting – are you a participant or spectator? What Mahoney calls the “last act of American genius;” is hunting in our DNA?; understanding the food on our plate – its history, heritage and traditions. And even Newberg’s first kill and how that made him who he is today.
Shane Patrick Mahoney is the Founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Biodiversity, Ecosystem Science and Sustainability at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. He also leads the Sustainable Development and Strategic Science Division of the Department of Environment and Conservation, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. His current project is the Wild Harvest Initiative, an effort to quantify the harvest and consumption of wild game and fish in the United States and Canada.
