Athens, GA -(AmmoLand.com)- The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) joins future deer and land stewards at the 2015 FFA National Convention, October 28-31 in Louisville, Kentucky, to launch its new Deer Management Curriculum for high school Agriculture and Forestry teachers.
“The National FFA Organization and agriculture educators understand the importance of teaching sound management of America’s number one game animal through their Career Development Events and the classroom,” said Hank Forester, QDMA’s Youth Education and Outreach Manager. “QDMA wants to offer quality materials to help spark interest and properly educate the next generation.”
QDMA’s new high school Deer Management Curriculum is offered in partnership with One Less Thing, an online resource for high school Agriculture teachers. The curriculum contains everything a teacher needs to teach a unit on whitetail management, including PowerPoint presentations, videos, quizzes, activities and a test. Presentations cover deer biology, history, management, aging and judging, trail-camera surveys, and more. The curriculum comes with a one-year “QDMA in the Classroom” membership, Aging and Judging Bucks on the Hoof DVD, six issues of Quality Whitetails magazine, and a combo pack of three QDMA educational posters. QDMA’s Deer Management Curriculum can be purchased at OneLessThing.net.
With new hunter recruitment and retention identified as the number one concern of the hunting industry, QDMA and it’s youth program the Rack Pack will have something to offer all 60,000 FFA members as well as their advisors. With a prominent booth, QDMA will promote sound deer management to future deer hunters and managers. In the past, QDMA has been enthusiastically received by high school FFA members interested in deer hunting.
