Public Invited to Bird Banding at Chadron State Park Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. –-(AmmoLand.com)- The public is invited to participate in bird banding Sept. 12 at Chadron State Park (SP).

A free open house will be held from 7-11 a.m. at the park’s Sawmill Shelter. Participants will have the chance to join wildlife biologists and researchers in capturing, banding, recording, and releasing several species of woodland and prairie birds. They should bring appropriate hiking gear and binoculars.

The event is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, with funding provided by the Nebraska Environmental Trust.

Chadron SP is 6 miles south of Chadron on U.S. Highway 385. A park entry permit is required for all vehicles and will be available at the park office.
