Washington Wizards guard Brandon Jennings was ejected from a game last week then ordered to pay a $35,000 fine for making a finger gun gesture at a player from the rival team.
The altercation started with Wizards center Jason Smith and Phoenix Suns guard Tyler Ulis but soon nearly all of the players, including Jennings, were tussling on the court. During the altercation, Jennings made a gesture at Suns forward Jared Dudley, but Jennings said it wasn’t an imitation gun.
“They said I pointed my finger like a gun at Dudley,” Jennings told The Washington Post. “I was telling Dudley to relax, like, calm down, because you’re not that type of guy.”
Nonetheless, Jennings was slapped with the hefty fine for “making menacing gestures.” Dudley was also fined for “escalating an altercation.”
