Potterfields Donate $400,000 to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
Columbia, MO –-(Ammoland.com)- Larry and Brenda Potterfield of MidwayUSA recently donated $400,000 to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to endow the new MidwayUSA Youth Wildlife Conservation Experience (MYWCE) program.
MYWCE is a program that will fund freshman and sophomore high school students to attend the annual Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Elk Camp annual sports show to educate them on wildlife conservation efforts and the outdoors. The generous donation from the Potterfields will go into an endowment, and the interest generated by the gift will fund the MYWCE program. Endowing these funds and only spending the interest will allow the program to continue indefinitely.
“Thanks to the generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, more young people will have the chance to experience what RMEF and our partners are doing to change conservation in America today and may discover a passion that they will enjoy for the rest of their lives,” said David Allen, RMEF CEO. “This program is a step toward solidifying the future of conservation in America.”
Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA, remarked, “Brenda and I believe in supporting youth programs that teach our next generation about wildlife and conservation. RMEF is doing a great job with our youth, who are the future of shooting, conservation and the outdoor industry. We are proud to help them change the future.”
