HARRISBURG, Pa. (Ammoland.Com) – On Dec. 26, 2014, popular hunting personality and Sportsman Channel host Brian “Pigman” Quaca nearly died in a horrific automobile accident. The violent crash left Quaca critically injured, with devastating injuries that included 11 skull fractures, bleeding on the brain, cracked ribs and blood in his lungs.
And now, for the first time anywhere, fans can learn all about the accident and Quaca’s grueling road to recovery in the June issue of Petersen’s BOWHUNTING magazine, on sale today!
Fans can also visit the BOWHUNTING website at www.bowhuntingmag.com/pigman for additional, behind-the-scenes video and images.
The Pigman 2.0 cover story, written by Editor Christian Berg, goes into great detail on the circumstances surrounding the accident, Quaca’s fight for his life and the numerous obstacles he has overcome – including severe nerve damage and significant vision loss.
“All I can say is wow!” Quaca said. “The accuracy and detail of the article was staggering. I had forgotten what all I had went through, and the article hit home all over again. It is a total honor to be featured on the cover of the true archery magazine, Petersen’s BOWHUNTING.”
The “Pigman” cover story anchors an issue built around wild hogs. Other highlights of the June BOWHUNTING include an in-depth look at America’s growing feral hog epidemic, expert advice for turning wild hogs into terrific table fare and the latest and greatest hog-hunting gear.
Amazingly – perhaps even miraculously – Quaca not only survived but recovered enough to return to the field. He is currently filming episodes for season six of his popular Pigman: The Series television show on Sportsman Channel. Tune in for two special, “comeback” episodes titled “Pigman Rising” highlighting Quaca’s accident, recovery and triumphant return to hunting on June 7 and 14 at 8 p.m. ET, exclusively on Sportsman Channel.
