Coming to Outdoor Channel this July “The Flush” presented by Pheasants Forever and Federal Premium Ammunition.
Saint Paul, Minn. –-(Ammoland.com)- “The Flush,” a new series about upland hunting and conservation, debuts this July on Outdoor Channel.
Presented by Pheasants Forever and Federal Premium Ammunition, and produced by Ron Schara Productions, the show will offer a fresh perspective on upland hunting, dog work, the need for quality habitat and wingshooting techniques.
Coming to Outdoor Channel July 1, “The Flush” will air Wednesdays at 8:30 am, Saturdays at 3 am and Sundays at 3:30 pm (all times eastern).
Co-hosted by longtime outdoor personalities Ron Schara and Bill Sherck, the season’s premier episode starts with Sherck taking viewers on a “Bucket List” bird hunt up and down the cliffs of Idaho’s infamous Hells Canyon.
The hunters chase wild ring-necked pheasant, chukar partridge, European partridge, and steelhead salmon in North America’s deepest canyon.

“The Flush isn’t your grandpa’s side-by-side, it’s a modern shotgun for a modern hunting experience. Upping the ante on your typical upland hunting show, it takes upland hunting to a different, more intense level. With epic hunting action, we do our best to highlight the challenges and the rewards faced by serious wingshooters,” says Sherck.
“At the same time, the series illustrates all aspects of upland hunting, from the dogs – man’s best friend in the field – to the need for quality habitat in order to continue upland hunting.”
Episode one opens near Lewiston, Idaho, with a pheasant hunt in classic Idaho draws, the group being led by “JJ” Teare of Idaho Fish and Game and Jay Roach of the North Idaho Pheasants Forever chapter. Highlighting the public hunting found in Hells Canyon, the group then moves on to find one of North America’s most challenging game birds, the chukar.
After a 1,500ft vertical climb up the walls of Hells Canyon, the group finally gets within gun range of the elusive birds and puts their winded shooting abilities to the test. Later in the show, Sherck and the group chase steelhead salmon up the canyon’s Snake River only to find a “birdy” looking spot immediately off river. Trading their rods in for shotguns, the group runs into some highflying action as “Huns” erupt a few minutes into the hunt.
“The Flush” is presented by Pheasants Forever and Federal Premium Ammunition. Additional sponsorship support is provided by: South Dakota Department Tourism, Aberdeen-South Dakota, Purina Pro Plan, Polaris, Carlson’s Choke Tubes, and SoundGear.
