Portage, Wisc. – -(Ammoland.com)- The Columbia County Chapter of Pheasants Forever was recently honored with several awards recognizing their dedicated efforts in conservation at the 2016 Wisconsin State Meeting.
Annual Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever state meetings provide a time for chapter volunteers and partners to connect, energize, celebrate upland habitat accomplishments, and focus on the organization’s wildlife habitat mission while discussing ways to increase positive impacts in conservation.
Since their inception, the Columbia County Chapter of Pheasants Forever has spent $305,626 to complete 432 habitat projects impacting more than 4,000 acres for wildlife habitat conservation in the Columbia County region.
Additionally, the chapter has hosted numerous public events such as Baraboo Youth Days, the MacKenzie Center Youth Expo, Cabela’s grand opening in Sun Prairie, and six Learn-to-Hunt programs, providing conservation outreach to 718 youth and 182 adults in only the last year.
Awards Received by the Columbia County Chapter of Pheasants Forever:
- Education & Outreach Chapter of the Year – Received for their outstanding education and outreach efforts, as well as their generous financial contributions to the No Child Left Indoors Initiative.
- Face of Wisconsin – Awarded to Bill Dabbs, one of seven recipients in the state, for his many volunteer hours dedicated to various youth and hunting programs.
- Dedication Award – Awarded to William and Jean Damm for years of service and devoted work supporting Pheasants Forever’s mission.
Fresh Feather Award – Awarded to Stephanie Wolff for her leadership within the chapter.
