Manasquan, NJ –-(Ammoland.com)- On March 10, 2012 there will be a “meet and eat” at Applebee’s on McDade Blvd. in Ridley Township, PA.
The one thing that makes this “meet and eat” different from any other blog site people getting together to get to know one another better is the fact that they will all open carry their firearms.
I know the reactions of people that do not know much about firearm law will be “oh my, that can’t be legal, they aren’t cops!” Truth of the matter is, in Pennsylvania, a law abiding citizen that is legal to own and obtain a legal firearm can openly carry a firearm WITHOUT a permit** anywhere and everywhere except a “City of the First Class”. The only “City of the First Class” in PA is Philadelphia, where open carry is still legal, but requires an LTCF (License to Carry a Firearm).
The “meet and eat” was organized by Mark Fiorino, a young man who had a little run-in with the Philadelphia PD that broadcasted on “YouTube” for everyone to hear. In October, he was acquitted of all charges that came about due to the posting on “YouTube”. He also has a civil suit pending. (more on this story and video here)
The event was coordinated on Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association (PAFOA). The PAFOA is a website that is geared toward the Pennsylvania firearm owner. It is listed as having 42810 members currently, many of which are very active.
There is an interactive blog space on the site that is always busy with people asking questions and offering advice, classifieds where you know other gun owners will see what you have to sell, political conversation and an overall general area known as “the lounge”.
I felt the need to put this out there for the people who may not have heard of PAFOA or Mark Fiorino, also known as ViperGTS19801, on PAFOA. It’s not like it’s a secret, he told his entire story on there and there are many people I know who would like the opportunity to say “thank you” for his efforts in preserving our rights in PA.
If you are looking for something to do with like-minded folks this Saturday, March 10, 2012, I am sure you will welcomed with open arms by the crowd at PAFOA at the Applebee’s on McDade Blvd in Ridley Township.
