North Carolina –-(Ammoland.com)- On Monday night, WRAL-TV out of Raleigh aired an anti-Second Amendment hit piece. WRAL’s misleading report focused on NFA trusts that are often created by law-abiding Americans to deal with the onerous process of legally obtaining NFA items including suppressors, short barreled rifles and fully automatic firearms manufactured before 1986. Click here for more details on the WRAL hit piece.
You and other GRNC supporters responded to WRAL by calling out one of its advertisers, Leith Nissan, and you may have subsequently received feedback from Leith. If so, you can read GRNC President Paul Valone’s response to that feedback by clicking here.
Now we see that Overton’s ( www.overtons.com ) is supporting anti-Second Amendment WRAL with a video ad embedded in WRAL’s misleading piece. The ad is one of several that you might see preceding WRAL’s report.
Why would a store selling camo, fishing and other outdoor gear be snuggling up to WRAL’s clear effort to help the gun control crowd?
Overton’s Greenville and Raleigh stores were clamoring for your hard-earned money on Black Friday, but why would a store selling camo, fishing and other outdoor gear be snuggling up to WRAL’s clear effort to help the gun control crowd? That is a question that only Overton’s can answer.
Below, see how you can easily check in with local Overton’s stores to let them know that this must be addressed, and soon. Otherwise, your hard earned bucks are going elsewhere.
We cannot let anti-freedom media do the dirty work of dishonest anti-gun extremists without opposition. We have to hit WRAL where it hurts most: in their advertising revenue.

Suggested Subject: “No Black Friday Bucks for Overton’s While it Supports WRAL-TV”
Dear Overton’s Management:
WRAL-TV in Raleigh is unfortunately a classic example of anti-freedom media that assists gun control extremists in attacking the constitutional rights of your customers.
WRAL is currently lying about the process of establishing a trust through the BATFE, intending to create political momentum to make it impossible for North Carolinians to obtain certain firearms and equipment.
North Carolina’s gun owners are among the most responsible group in our state, and we often buy just the sort of gear and supplies sold at your establishment.
I regret to have to bring you into this issue, but we have little recourse in defending our right to bear arms from media attacks other than refusing to do business with their advertisers.
Unfortunately, I must inform you that I will not shop at Overton’s as long as you support anti-second amendment WRAL-TV. In order to remedy this, I insist on two simple courses of action by Overton’s: (1) publicly disassociate Overton’s from the video ad that played immediately preceding WRAL’s anti-gun report. (2) Pull Overton’s advertising from WRAL entirely.
Sincerely,
