In total, the event has raised one million dollars over four years to connect young people to America’s parks and outdoor spaces.
Washington, DC -(AmmoLand.com)- The Outdoor Foundation, charitable arm of Outdoor Industry Association, is proud to announce the success of the 2016 Outsiders Ball; raising $240,000, thanks to the 56 brand sponsors and 1,000 attendees.
The event, which took place on August 2nd – ‘Night 0’ of Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, is the party-for-a-purpose, funding projects that provide outdoor experiences for youth and young adults through Outdoor Nation and Parks4Kids. Since its inception three years ago, Outsiders Ball has now raised one million dollars to support outdoor experiences for youth – advancing the Outdoor Foundation’s mission of inspiring a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts.
Year over year, Outsiders Ball has emerged as the ‘must attend’ event where on one night, one thousand industry leaders join together for one common cause: to fund programs that connect a new generation of enthusiasts and consumers with the outdoors.
Over the course of the evening, 100 miles were logged by guests on the Thule Road, Trail and River Challenge, 131 photos were taken in the SmileBooth, over 1000 meals were served from delicious local food trucks, and many people pledged to support kids in parks and climbed a small Half Dome as a result. The entire event was sponsored and supported by creative agency Embassy, located in Austin, Texas. The agency was joined by these brand sponsors.
“We believe the 2016 Outsiders Ball was the best yet – with amazing interactive experiences, food and of course the best guests,” said Chris Fanning, executive director of the Outdoor Foundation. “We are thankful for the support of Embassy and our other amazing sponsors who made the event possible. Ultimately, we are most grateful for our industry that has rallied around this event to raise one million dollars to inspire and grow future generations of outdoor enthusiasts and advocates.”
