After reviewing the Live Leak video of a Range Rover being pursued by a throng of violent bikers, the Texas Armoring Corporation has weighed in on the situation, offering their viewpoint from a security standpoint and demonstrating how their products could have averted the potentially life-threatening incident.
In the Live Leak video, a Range Rover is surrounded by a large group of motorcycles, creating a roadblock around the car and forcing it to a stop. One of the bikers storms over to Alexian Lien, the man driving the vehicle, and tries to open his door.
Lien, trying to protect his wife and child who are also in the car, speeds away, mowing over several motorcycles and a rider in the process. In the ensuing chase, bikers continually swarm the Range Rover, and eventually succeed in surrounding it again after Lien takes his vehicle off the freeway and onto a side street.
Once in traffic, a biker approaches Lien, smashes the window with his helmet, and extracts him from the vehicle. It was reported that Lien was badly beaten and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Simulating the bikers, TAC uses a helmet to strike their bullet proof glass window. Not only does the window not shatter, not even a mark is left.
Upgrading to a baton, the window is repeatedly struck again, this time leaving small fractures.
Finally, a handgun is used to try to break through. After several shots, the glass is badly fractured, but no rounds passed through.
TAC also explained some of the concepts they teach their clients to keep them as safe as possible.
According to TAC, you should never stop your vehicle in a high-risk situation. “Always keep moving in the event of an attack.”
Another concept TAC teaches is to “use your vehicle to your tactical advantage.” Employ evasive driving maneuvers, ram attackers or potential attacker off the road, and use your vehicle’s strengths. So if you’re driving an off-road truck and you are being pursued by street bikes, take your chase to the dirt.
Lastly, TAC recommends all their clients “always be armed.” While this wasn’t a legal option for Lien due to New York’s laws, his situation may have turned out much differently if he had been.
