Oklahoma –  -(Ammoland.com)- Following a string of potential HSUS violations against his fellow citizens, veterinarian and State Representative Brian Renegar (D) from McAlester has introduced House Bill 2250.

This potential measure would ban animal rights organizations from fundraising in the state unless that money goes towards programs in the state.

From Brownfield Ag News.:

A bill to be introduced in the Oklahoma legislature takes aim at the leading animal rights activist group, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

The measure would ban animal rights and rescue groups from raising funds in the state if they are not operating at least part of their operations within the state. The bill would also ban such organizations from running commercials in the state. The bill is sponsored by an Oklahoma state representative who is also a veterinarian — HB2250

Last year, Oklahoma’s Attorney General started an investigation into the fundraising of the HSUS. HumaneWatch says only one-percent of budget of the HSUS is given to local animal shelters. The Oklahoma legislature convenes February first 2016.
