Some New Yorkers got the privilege of watching a boy in blue get down and do the Nae Nae with residents during a recent Bed-Stuy block party.
NYPD Officer James Ferrazzo, with the 79th Precinct, showed off his dance moves, which of course were recorded and subsequently uploaded to YouTube by partygoer Daiyana Gordon.
“It was a great way of him showing the kids and the community that he is a regular person, especially with all the negative publicity police officers have been getting,” Gordan said.
Gordan said Ferrazzo and his partner were “awesome the entire day,” throwing footballs with the kids and otherwise just joining in with the festivities.
“We need them in our communities,” she added. “We need young people to admire and look up to them, not fear them.”
At the end of the day, the entire neighborhood thanked the officers for their service.
