NY pizza delivery guy fights back against four armed robbers… and wins (VIDEO)

A guy delivering pizzas in Buffalo, New York, was attacked by a group of four armed robbers late Monday night, but the delivery guy – who was armed with a handgun – fought back and won.

It was about 10:30 p.m. when the delivery driver, whose name has been withheld for what police say are safety reasons, arrived at a home to deliver a late-night dinner, The Buffalo News reports. But as the man walked down the front hallway of the home, he was attacked by four would-be robbers who began beating him on his head and body.

One of the suspects was wearing a mask as well as a hoodie pulled over his face and was armed with a hammer, which he used to hit the man over the head. The suspect also exposed what appeared to be a gun.

But what the four assailants didn’t know was that the man they were attacking was armed as well.

The pizza guy pulled out a pistol and shot the suspect who was wearing a mask. The remaining suspects quickly scattered and fled the scene.

The injured suspect was taken to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment for gunshot wounds to the right arm and abdomen. He was said to be in fair condition Tuesday.

The suspect, later identified as 18-year-old DeJuan Coleman, remains in police custody at the hospital and will face first-degree robbery charges. The remaining three suspects are still at large.

The pizza delivery man received cuts and bruises on his head and hands during the attempted robbery, but his current condition or whether he remains in the hospital is unknown.

Authorities, who would not reveal what pizza company the man works for, confirmed that the handgun used was legally owned and properly registered by the delivery driver, who also has a license to carry the gun.

There was no indication that the man would face any charges for shooting his attacker, as he acted in self-defense. The investigation is ongoing.
