NSSF’s goal is to remind hunters, shooters and gun owners that to ensure their voice is heard on Election Day they must register to vote and, so that they “Don’t Risk Their Rights,” to visit NSSF’s #gunvote/Don’t Risk Your Rights voter-education website to learn where the candidates stand on hunting, shooting and the Second Amendment.

Via a link to NSSF’s voter-education website for the 2012 Election, the #gunvote/Don’t Risk Your Rights button provides access to voter-registration information for all 50 states, a guide to political races, the latest polls and links to news articles and videos that will help give site visitors insights on their candidates’ positions on hunting, target shooting and firearms ownership.

The icon also serves as a reminder to individuals to share information they obtain about candidates on Twitter by using the #gunvote hashtag.

NSSF also is encouraging members to use the #gunvote/Don’t Risk Your Rights website to remind their employees and families, as well as vendors, to register to vote and to use the resources on the site to educate themselves about the candidates before Election Day so that they “Don’t Risk Their Rights.”

Go to nssf.org/gunvote for instructions on how to add the #gunvote/Don’t Risk Your Rights button.

“We have seen before how the votes of gun owners, target shooters and hunters can make a huge impact in an election,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF’s senior vice president and general counsel. “We want to see more gun owners vote in this election because we know that decisions on key legislation and court appointments will have a profound effect our firearms freedoms.”
