NRA to Sanction Tactical Multi-Gun Competitions
FAIRFAX, Va. – -(AmmoLand.com)- NRA Competitive Shooting Division is proud to announce its entrance into tactical multi-gun or three-gun competitions. The first NRA-sanctioned multi-gun match will be held in Waco, Texas March 28-29, 2009.
Kayne Robinson, Executive Director of NRA’s General Operations is pleased to further welcome three-gun shooters into the NRA family by way of sanctioning the LaRue Tactical Three-Gun Competition. “Three-gun competitors are a welcome addition to an already outstanding group of competitive shooters,” said Robinson.
“The Special Committee on Multi-Gun Competitions will assist the NRA in developing rules for the competition, developing the stages of fire necessary to run an NRA-sanctioned competition, and training NRA staff to better serve three-gun competitors,” offered Mike Krei, Director of the NRA’s Competitive Shooting Division.
Three additional Multi-Gun matches have received NRA’s sanctioning:
- Sabre Defense Blue Ridge Mountain Three-Gun Match, April 24-26, 2009
- Johnson Three-Gun Match, June 27-28, 2009
- Rocky Mountain Three-Gun Match held at the NRA Wittington Center in Raton, New Mexico August 6-8, 2009.
For more than 100 years, NRA competitive shooting has offered a wide range of activities in all types of shooting disciplines. Thousands of competitive shooters have participated in NRA-sanctioned events. “The NRA is pleased to expand its Competitions Division to include three-gun matches and, in doing so, further build its competitive legacy,” said Krei.
