Fairfax, Va -(Ammoland.com)- The NRA Training Department has opened registration for the 2012 NRA Junior Pistol and Smallbore Rifle Camps this July in Camp Perry, Ohio.

Under the supervision of NRA Certified Coaches, these six-day camps offer expert instruction for 12-18 year old competitors looking to take their shooting skills to the next level. Although both camps are geared towards intermediate shooters, beginners will be accepted if space becomes available.

“The Junior Camps are an excellent resource for young competitive shooters who want to hone their skills,” said Bill Poole, Director of NRA Education & Training. “From mental focus to advanced marksmanship techniques, participants leave with a host of knowledge that they can apply to their training.”

Held in conjunction with the NRA National Rifle and Pistol Championships, the Junior Pistol Camp runs July 10-15 and the Smallbore Rifle Camp follows July 21-26. Junior Pistol is limited to 50 shooters with a focus on conventional and international pistol shooting. Junior Smallbore is capped at 72 shooters and centers on 3 and 4-position rifle shooting.

Campers who register by June 15 will be charged a $200.00 registration fee to cover training, materials and administrative costs. Registration after the 15th is $225.00. Participants are responsible for their own travel and loading expenses. Thanks to the Ohio Gun Collectors Association, first-time Junior Pistol campers are also eligible for a tuition and travel reimbursement of up to $500.
