NRA, Everytown spar over Kim Kardashian’s Paris stick-up

Reality star Kim Kardashian’s run in with armed crooks in a high-end French hotel Sunday night, which resulted in a reported $10 million loss, has sparked a gun control debate.

Relieved of jewelry including a ring reportedly valued at $4.5 million and another $5.6 worth of other bling, the other half of the Kayne West show was reportedly held up by robbers dressed as police and armed with handguns.

A well-known advocate for gun control in the U.S. who has in the past weighed in on mass-killings, blasted Congress for not passing laws on expanded background checks and sported Orange for Everytown, the NRA took a minute out to feign shock on social media.

“Wait, criminals held @KimKardashian at gunpoint in Paris? How is that possible? Does anyone know if they passed a background check first?” wrote the nation’s largest gun rights group on Twitter.

They followed this up with, “It’s shocking that these criminals did not subject themselves to Paris’ strict #guncontrol laws before committing this awful crime”

This resulted in some open sparring between the group and Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts and Everytown

And left the NRA to elaborate their position when called out by media groups for their remarks, holding firm on their stand.
