Wenatchee, WA –-(Ammoland.com)- John Kruse, the host and producer of Northwestern Outdoors Radio, was recently awarded three separate “Excellence in Craft” awards for segments that aired on his syndicated show during the last year.
The first award was given to Kruse during the annual Northwest Outdoor Writers Association conference in Wallace, Idaho this spring where Kruse’s segment was recognized in a competition pitting his radio show against other radio programs as well as television programs about the outdoors.
The other two awards were announced last week and will be formally awarded to Kruse at the Outdoor Writers Association of America conference at Lake Placid, NY this September. Kruse received one “Excellence in Craft” award for a hunting segment featuring Idaho hunter Robert Millage and the story of the first wolf taken in the state of Idaho in modern times.
Another “Excellence in Craft” award was given to Kruse for a fishing segment he recorded with guide Kelly Barnum in Washington State about a fledgling catch and release fishery for seven gill sharks and the fight to keep the fishery open for sport anglers.
Northwestern Outdoors Radio competed for the first time this year against outdoor radio shows and podcasts across North America.
