Melville, NY –-(Ammoland.com)- The National Rifle Association’s Shooting Illustrated magazine has chosen Nikon’s M-223 Riflescope line as the winner of the 2012 Golden Bullseye Award for Optic of the Year.

The award was presented at the NRA Annual Meeting and Exhibits in St. Louis, Missouri, held April 13-15, 2012.

In a review of the M-223 1-4×20 published in the November 2011 issue of Shooting Illustrated, Associate Editor Ed Friedman wrote, “I cannot envision a scope better suited for 3-gun, where fast transitions between close- and medium-range targets are vital. The M-223 is also a solid option for a survival rifle, as it doesn’t add tremendous weight to an AR.”

M-223 riflescopes are engineered for AR platform rifles and more specifically, for the .223 Remington/5.56 NATO cartridge. All M-223 riflescopes have Zero-Reset Turrets, which make field adjustments simple and save shooters valuable time. Aside from their exceptional clarity, the virtue that shooters appreciate most about the Nikon M-223 is that a calculated pull of the trigger always turns into an exact result.

Like all Nikon riflescopes, the M-223 line is optimized for use with Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology. Spot On has been updated to include all of Nikon’s new riflescopes for 2012, as well as the Custom Turret Program. There are now more than 5,380 loads to search from across 200+ cartridges, making Spot On the most comprehensive ballistics program ever. Spot On apps can be purchased for the iPhone, iPad and Android. The program can also be utilized for free at nikonhunting.com/spoton.

Nikon Inc. is the U.S. distributor of Nikon sports and recreational optics, world-renowned Nikon 35mm cameras, digital cameras, speedlights and accessories, Nikkor lenses and electronic imaging products.
