Advertised as soft recoiling and easy to rack, Walther’s new Concealed Carry Pistol, or CCP, in .380ACP is headed to dealers.
Billed as the first polymer pistol with Softcoil gas technology, Walther says the CCP, “improves the user’s experience by reducing overall felt recoil and allowing the slide to be easily manipulated regardless of hand strength.”
The 8+1 capacity CCP is compact, with a 3.54-inch barrel and 6.41-inch overall length while weight is 19.4-ounces, empty. This puts the CCP only slightly larger than the Glock G42, a polymer-framed 6+1 capacity .380ACP. A closer comparison would be with Smith & Wesson’s M&P380 Shield EZ, which has the same footprint as the CCP and, as the S&W pistol’s name would imply, it features an easy-to-rack slide.
MSRP on the Walther CCP M2 Pistol in .380ACP is $469, a price that should be lower with dealers. The 9mm version, which was released last January, runs about $397.
