NORTH PLATTE-(Ammoland.com)-– In collaboration with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Nebraska Wildlife Protectors Association, the Nebraska Wildlife Crimestoppers works hard to protect wildlife from illegal poaching activities and other game-related violations. Working much like the well-known Crime Stoppers program, the Nebraska Wildlife Crimestoppers program offers rewards for vital information resulting in arrests for violations concerning wildlife. Callers to the Operation Game Thief Hotline (800-742-7627) are allowed to remain anonymous and are asked to provide as much information about the violation and suspect as possible.

Each year the Nebraska Wildlife Crimestoppers hosts only one event to help raise funds for the rewards they provide to protect wildlife. The Wildlife Crimestoppers will be hosting a banquet and auction on October 14 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds Centennial Hall in North Platte. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a prime rib dinner at 6:30 followed by the auction. Tickets are $40 and include the dinner and door prizes. Many raffle prizes will also be available.

Items to be auctioned include: a Camo Beretta A 300 Outlander 12 gauge, Nebraska football tickets, Lifetime Hunting permits, a seven-day hunt for two hunters and two observers in the Western Provence of South Africa, a Payton Manning autographed jersey, a buffalo hide, and much more.
