National Bobwhite Technical Committee, Meeting, 2nd Announcement

Friendly reminder that early registration ends on May 30, 2014.

We would like to invite you to attend the 20th annual National Bobwhite Technical Committee meeting (formerly Southeast Quail Study Group). All registrations will go through the Iowa Chapter of The Wildlife Society via this website link. Please note before you register be sure to add iowatws.org to your safe senders list (particularly for Hotmail, Outlook, MSN, and Windows Live users), or you may not receive your confirmation and registration receipt for the meeting.

Early Registration ($200) deadline is May 30, 2014. Late registrations after May 30th will be charged an additional $50. Registration deadline is July 7, 2014.

Registration is thru PayPal. You will receive two e-mails from Iowa TWS when registering, a confirmation e-mail that your registration was recorded and a second e-mail with a PDF receipt once your payment has processed thru PayPal. PayPal will also e-mail you a receipt.

A draft agenda and all information necessary to register and make room reservations for the meeting is available on this website. Please use the blue links on the website for more information about our meeting location. We believe we have kept expenses within reason and affordable. Also note $15 of each registration is your annual NBTC dues.

We have space for 6 to 10 posters at the hotel. If you would like to have a poster at this year’s meeting please contact Todd Bogenschutz directly at 515-432-2823 x111 or todd.bogenschutz@dnr.iowa.gov prior to May 30, 2014.

Our theme is “Living on the Edge” – where the northern edge of the quail range meets the transition edge between grasslands, forests, and agriculture”. We will unveil the range-wide focal area implementation program renamed “NBCI Coordinated Implementation Program (CIP)” at the state coordinators meeting.

For those of you who have never been to Iowa, we are home to several icons of the wildlife conservation movement including Aldo Leopold and Paul Errington. We will be glad to help you plan side trips for your stay upon request (special requests should come directly to Lile Kruger at lile.kruger@dnr.iowa.gov)
