United States -(AmmoLand.com)- Montana native N. Stephanie Spika is running for the National Rifle Association (NRA) Board of Directors.
Spika previously worked for the NRA as both a spokesman and as the organization’s social media manager. She is currently employed by Safari Club International as their manager of strategic communication.
“My Montana roots and first-hand experience with NRA members and social media fans across the country make me uniquely qualified to understand what appeals to younger members and those considering joining this great organization,” said Spika.
In the past few years, the NRA has focused on recruiting and retaining younger members. At 30 years of age, Spika fits that demographic.
The NRA has also seen an uptick in female members.
“Women are the fastest growing demographic of gun owners,” said Spika. “If elected to the NRA Board, I’d push for continued support of women’s shooting and hunting programs.”
In order to be placed on the 2016 ballot for the NRA Board of Directors, Spika collected over 300 valid signatures of NRA Life Members or Voting Members via petition. There are 39 candidates running for 25 open seats on the Board. NRA members eligible to vote will find their ballot in the center of their March 2016 NRA magazine.
“As an NRA Board Member I’d work relentlessly to preserve our Second Amendment and strengthen the NRA. The attacks against our way of life will not decrease in the future. We need to work to build the best NRA possible so that future generations can experience the same rights and freedoms that we enjoy today.”
