A man was killed on an Oregon highway Saturday after he opened fire on drivers, only to be run over by a man in a pickup truck.
Police say Neal Norman fatally shot a cook at Callahan’s Lodge in Ashland, near the California border, then stole the cook’s car and headed down the highway. The cook, Ryan Bagley, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At some point after leaving the lodge, Norman stopped on the highway, exited the vehicle, and started shooting at unsuspecting drivers until he was fatally struck by a truck. The driver of the pickup was questioned by police and released, although authorities kept his bullet-riddled truck for evidence.
Police have no motive for Norman’s actions and there appears to be no known connection between him and Bagley.
