Salt Lake City, UT -(Ammoland.com)- Last Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation that includes a provision to renew tax incentives for conservation easements, policy that is strongly supported by the Mule Deer Foundation.

The bill that passed, H.R. 644, includes extensions to a number of different tax credits; it passed with 67 percent of Representatives in support. The following is a statement from MDF President and CEO, Miles Moretti about the conservation easement tax incentives.

“The Mule Deer Foundation thanks the members of the U.S. House of Representatives that supported this bill that includes important tax incentives for conservation easements. Private lands provide some of the best habitat for the country’s mule deer and black-tailed deer, and this incentive will support landowners who want to protect their lands in perpetuity by placing them in a conservation easement. It is our sincere hope that this historic legislation will enjoy the same overwhelming support in the U.S. Senate, which will make these incentives available to landowners going forward.”
