A 16-year-old girl who has been missing since December was found in a Memphis home while police were serving a narcotics search warrant.
Inside the home, which is located just blocks from a local high school, authorities found heroin, syringes, guns and ammunition. Several toddlers, ranging in age from 1 to 3 years old, were also found inside them home and placed in state custody.
Eddie Keller and Meisha Scruggs were arrested and now face numerous drug and gun-related charges, as well as child abuse and neglect charges. A man named Cordell Scruggs is also in custody, but has not yet been formally charged.
The teen’s mother, who did not want to be identified, said she was glad to have her daughter home again. According to the mother, the girl ran away from home, but it’s unknown how she ended up at the house that was raided.
