Columbia, MO -(AmmoLand.com)- The industry of youth shooting sports is seeing tremendous growth and there is no denying that growth could not be accomplished without substantial support from Larry and Brenda Potterfield, owners of MidwayUSA.
Their donations to the MidwayUSA Foundation have allowed nearly 100,000 shooting sport athletes opportunities they would not have otherwise received.
In 2015, their donations to the MidwayUSA Foundation totaled nearly $7 million. A majority of that donation was used for programs like the matching program offered by the MidwayUSA Foundation. With this program, which will continue in 2016, donors have the ability to choose the shooting team that will benefit from their donation and that donation is matched, dollar for dollar. The Potterfield contribution also covered all of the MidwayUSA Foundation operational expenses. This support allows 100% of each donation that comes into the [MidwayUSA] Foundation to go to the shooting team of a donor’s choice. None of the funds teams place with the Foundation are reduced to cover operational overhead.
Randy Moeller, Executive Director of the MidwayUSA Foundation talked about the generosity of the Potterfield family.
“The charitable contributions made by Larry and Brenda Potterfield to the MidwayUSA Foundation are a result of their shared passion for the current and future growth of the youth shooting sports. Their gifts allow the MidwayUSA Foundation to provide long-term fundraising support for youth teams across all shooting disciplines, in all 50 states. We are very grateful for the vision, support and funding provided by Larry and Brenda Potterfield. Together we are indeed changing the future of youth shooting sports.”
