Champion shooter Jerry Miculek channels the super-soldier of the Greatest Generation and creates his own solid titanium 12-pound shield, then tests it with a GI 1911.
While they tried to lay hands on a quantity of Vibranium-iron alloy it just didn’t happen, but in the end it looks like the same quantity of regular old titanium will do the pinch against .45ACP ball.
But it does ring a bit when struck, unlike Howard Stark’s prototype for the first Avenger (“It’s stronger than steel and a third the weight. It’s completely vibration absorbent,” said the man with the funny mustache).
We guess Miculek doesn’t have Stark’s funding.
