MaxpeditionU.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- Did you know that when a person gets shot in the arm or leg, there is less than 4 minutes to stop the bleeding before it’s too late?

Last week, Maxpedition participated in an interdepartmental active shooter response exercise conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department. With mass casualty incidences on the rise, 30+ governmental agencies gathered at a southern California university campus to practice active shooter response, bomb blast response, tac-med life saving techniques, and air evacuation. The intense training was conducted on one of the hottest days of the year, putting the skills and resolve of these dedicated first responders to the test.

Active shooter incidents are not just a law enforcement matter, but also a serious concern for all prepared citizens. This is why proper training, such as how to use an SOF tourniquet to stop bleeding, in conjunction with quality equipment is important to everyone.

Maxpedition is proud to serve the brave men and women in law enforcement, fire and rescue with our durable bags, backpacks and medical pouches designed to withstand the most extreme situations and to provide immediate access to life-saving equipment.

Always striving to improve our products for the tactical professional, I developed the ATLAS system in late 2014 as a tough yet lightweight MOLLE-compatible attachment surface, fabricated from laser-cut advanced composite materials. ATLAS is an acronym for ATachment LAttice System, and is found throughout Maxpedition’s Advanced Gear Research (AGR) line. Here’s a video with an inside look at the development and fabrication of the ATLAS system:

In lighter news, Maxpedition gear will be featured in the upcoming Jumanji 2 movie hitting theatres on December 20, 2017. I still remember when I was a kid in elementary school sitting around the teacher during story time and hearing the adventures of children transported into a board game with wild animals running rampant. Now, the book is a movie and Maxpedition bags are in it. Pretty cool! Also worth mentioning, the star of the original 1995 Jumanji movie, Robin Williams, was one of our favorite customers. May he rest in peace.
