Marcus D. Young of Cozad Wins 2009 Nebraska Bull Elk Auction Permit

LINCOLN, Neb. – -(AmmoLand.com)- Marcus D. Young of Cozad won the 2009 Nebraska bull elk auction permit sold at the Rock Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) state banquet at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln on March 21, with a high bid of $20,000.

Kit Hams, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s big game program manager, said the $20,000 bid by Young will be used by the Commission and RMEF to enhance elk habitat and conservation, as well as education. The Commission and RMEF have jointly funded many projects for the conservation of elk habitat in the past, including aerial surveys, damage abatement, tree clearing and establishment of watering devices and food plots.
