Man who shot George Zimmerman during road rage incident arrested, charged (VIDEO)

Matthew Apperson, the man accused of shooting through a car window at George Zimmerman during a road rage incident in Lake Mary, Florida, last week is now facing charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and firing a deadly missile into an occupied conveyance.

Apperson voluntarily surrendered to authorities after learning of his arrest warrant.

According to court documents, Apperson is “fixated” on Zimmerman and was displaying “unusual behavior.”

Apperson’s first court appearance was on Saturday and lasted a total of four minutes. The judge initially denied bond, but later agreed to set it at $35,000. Apperson subsequently posted bail and was released later that day. However, Apperson is no longer allowed to possess any firearms or have any contact with Zimmerman.

Apparently the two men have been in an ongoing dispute since last year, and Apperson claimed Zimmerman was trying to kill him in September.

Police documents from last week’s incident indicate Apperson pulled up behind Zimmerman and stated, “You remember me you fat (expletive)?”

Apperson the added, “You owe me your life. The only reason I didn’t press charges on you is because I wanted to kill you myself,” according to the documents.

However, Apperson’s lawyer said his client did not provide additional statements to law enforcement, and the charges he is currently facing are based solely on Zimmerman’s statements.
