An Ohio man that was shot in the arm last week originally blamed the injury on a robbery, but later confessed to police he actually had shot himself.
When the 27-year-old first reported the incident to authorities, he said a masked man shot him in the arm while attempting to rob him. However, Parma police quickly noticed inconsistencies in his story and after some prodding, discovered the reporting party had actually shot himself while trying to remove his firearm from the trunk of his car, Talking Points Memo reports.
The man was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his self inflicted gunshot wound. He was later arrested and charged with “inducing panic.”
