A 23-year-old man is accused of killing his parents Sunday evening in their home in Chesapeake, Virginia, before threatening to kill his aunt and uncle as well.
The incident unfolded around 7:25 p.m. Michael Dunlow told investigators he and his wife, Ava, were at home when their nephew, Steven Julian, showed up with a gun and threatened to them. But Michael Dunlow, who worked in law enforcement for more than 30 years, was able to talk Julian down and disarm him. Dunlow then held his nephew at gunpoint until police arrived. Neither Michael Dunlow or his wife were harmed.
However, Julian admitted to authorities that before confronting his aunt and uncle, he killed his parents – Clark and Sally Julian – in their own home. Officers found the couple in their home, just as Julian said. Both had been shot and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Julian was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Authorities do not have a motive for the murders at this time.
