Two people are facing gun charges after a search warrant was executed at an apartment in New York Saturday night turned up two firearms.

Although details of the search warrant are unknown, officers discovered a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson and a .22-caliber semi automatic with features consistent with that of an assault rifle, including a 30-round magazine. The 9mm was believed to be stolen, as the serial numbers were scratched off. More than 100 rounds of ammunition tucked away in a bag and an extra box of 9mm rounds were located in a bedroom. Also found in the apartment was a small amount of marijuana.

Jaquan Flagg and Shamira Howard, both 32 years old, were arrested on two counts of illegal gun possession.

Flagg was released from Manhattan’s Lincoln Correctional Facility in 2011 after serving two years for weapons-related charges. Flagg was on parole following his release and, in fact, had just successfully completed his parole on Oct. 21, less than a month before he was arrested again.
