Ronkonkoma, NY –-(Ammoland.com)- Long Island Firearms, the premiere online community for firearms enthusiasts in the New York area, recently launched a total overhaul of its much beloved, but aging forum software.
The update, for which forum members were updated live when possible in an active message thread, switched the old website software to the new IP.Board system. As LIF Administrators explained in a live update thread, the older eBlah system simply could not keep up with the rapidly expanding website. The newer software boasts increased speed, capacity, and most importantly online security.
While the new website seems to feel “just like home” to long time members of the forum, the change will certainly not go unnoticed. The basic forum navigation and interface have remained mostly the same, keeping the same user-friendly appeal of the LIF “classic” website; however, new features have been hemmed in, as well as upgraded and updated interfaces. Overall, user feedback has been overwhelmingly positive since the dust settled. In an ongoing user poll, the current feedback is seventy three to one in favor of the new website.
The Long Island Firearms website update is a statement in the ever ongoing battle for firearms civil rights in the New York area. Not only has the small pro-firearms website, which started on a whim one chilly March evening in 2009, expanded to a massive 6,000 members in less than four years, they are not stopping. Long Island Firearms is here, and they have what it takes to continue expanding, upgrading, and staying ahead of the social media technology curve as they continue to bring the fight for second amendment rights on Long Island, and the entire New York area.
Along with the new forum software we would like to thank you for your continued support. What better way than to giveaway a firearm? Tis the season! Long Island Firearms along with Hunter Essentials is giving away a NEW Mossberg Shotgun just in time for the holiday’s!
