Trenton, NJ –-(Ammoland.com)- The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is offering the award-winning documentary “Living with New Jersey Black Bears” free of charge to New Jersey residents.

This documentary contains extensive information on the biology and habits of black bears and was developed with scientific input from New Jersey wildlife experts to help the public better understand both how to co-exist with black bears and how the State manages its bear population.

The DVD includes a 60-minute film which explores the growing national challenge of sharing the landscape with black bear populations, as well as an additional 15-minute segment devoted to the management of black bears in New Jersey.

The documentary is part of the State’s educational portion of the Comprehensive Black Bear Management Policy, which includes public education, research, bear habitat analysis and protection, hunting, non-lethal bear management techniques, enforcement of laws, and efforts to keep human food sources, especially household trash, away from bears to limit bear-human encounters.

The production of “Living with New Jersey Black Bears” was jointly financed by the DEP’s Division of Fish and Wildlife in partnership with state government fish and wildlife agencies in New York, Florida and Arkansas, and the New Jersey State Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs.
